Not Disappointed

I was late to the party in becoming a fan, although I have often heard of Tony Robbins I had not engaged in any of his content although I had enjoyed listening to his one of his mentors, the late great Jim Rohn.

Time To Wake Up. Who And What Is Actually In Control Of Your Life? “The Power Of Now” – Eckhart Tolle

I have just read the book “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle.

Wow, What A Fresh Look At Who Is In Control Of Your Life

I found it very interesting realising who is actually in control of my life. Who has the constructive power or destructive power over my life?

Now that I have read The Power of Now” I am able to take control of my life.

While reading this book, I realised I have actually skirted around many of these ideas and concepts already, just never really having any sort of confirmation. Even though I may still not yet fully understand, I know I am on the right path to understanding a lot better.

The most fascinating thing for me at this stage was learning and confirming who I am.

I am not my body. I am the person inside my body. Now even though you may think that to be an obvious concept to understand.

However, I remember a conversation I tied to have with a friend about this concept which immediately revealed he didn’t understand what I was trying to say. Thus revealing that many people have not really grasped this concept or possibly haven’t even thought about it.

The three levels of things we know or don’t know.

  1. What we know we know.
  2. What we know we don’t know.
  3. What we don’t know we don’t know.

So I understand many are at the third level “What we don’t know we don’t know.”

Understand Who You Are

However, after reading the book The Power of Now” I know I was on the right track and understand;

  • Who I am,
  • What power I have in controlling my present and
  • Not letting memories of the past dictate my present or future.

What a powerful realisation – I think everyone should have.

Add this book to your self-development library immediately. I am sure this is a book you will repeatedly refer back to.

If you are looking for a book to understand yourself better or understand who is actually in control of your life, get this book immediately.

Pay Attention

This is not a quick read, you will have to pay attention to get the best results. So take time and think about the concepts. Then apply them to yourself, for the better you apply the concepts the better your self-development.

The strange realisation is, we all think we are in control of our lives and that we are so intelligent, but the truth is most are so unconscious to the reality of what is driving their lives, they have very little if any control at all.

Yes it is time that people Wake Up.

The Power of Now” can transform your thinking. The Result? More Joy, right now.”

Oprah Winfrey

Some Things You Will Learn

  • You are not your mind
  • The effect your thoughts have
  • The power your thinking has in your life
  • How you can move forward and not have your past adversely affect your present or your future

Get this book now and learn “The Power of Now”.

“I speak of a profound transformation of human consciousness – not as a distant future possibility, but available now – no matter who or where you are. Strategies You Can Follow – For Never Losing Out Again

Irrespective of your age or life experience, you most probably will agree that life is full of ups and downs.

When things don’t go as planned, we immediately think things have gone wrong. So if something happens and throws us slightly off-balance we tend to start doubting ourselves and our abilities.

We all want things to go well. Above all, we want to be winners. So when things don’t go as planned or expected, it can be tough. However, life always throws challenges at us, and we realise we can’t control everything.

Now it’s not what happens that counts, its how you deal with what happens that makes the difference. These strategies will also be helpful if you are considering starting a digital business.

Here are three easy ways that you can always come out on top.

1. Focus on Strengths

We are all an accumulation of contradictions. Sorry to break it to you.

Sometimes we are happy, sad, hopeful, pessimistic, childish or mature.

Even though we consist of many strengths and weaknesses, affecting everything we do, we tend to put more focus on our weaknesses rather than our strengths.

“Focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses.
Focus on your character, not your reputation.
Focus on your blessings, not your misfortunes.”

Roy T. Bennett

A strength is something we do consistently well, near-perfect level of performance. Therefore it is something we’re able to do. We are hard-wired to do it well, and we have an inherent satisfaction when doing it.

Therefore it could be things like tackling and solving complex problems. Perhaps you find it easy to empathise with people. In other words, you may have a lively imagination, or you find it easy to throw ingredients together and make a fantastic meal without a recipe.

Doesn’t it make sense to focus on what we do well, with ease than concentrating on all the things that make us struggle?

When we look at what you’re not good at we feel inadequate about our abilities. However, when we focus on our strengths, we are better positioned to get results.

I know a man who hated public speaking, and he identified public speaking as one of his weaknesses.

As he progressed in his career, he found himself needing to perform more presentations which made him shudder and freeze. However, this fear even made him forget parts of his presentation, never able to perform at his best.

The moment he changed his focus from his weaknesses to his strengths, he was surprised to find that he had brilliant social skills. He also discovered he is great in establishing rapport with people quickly, and a great sense of humour.

So by merely focussing on his strengths, he was able to connect with each person in the audience very quickly. Thus he was even surprised at how easy it was and that he wasn’t terrified conducting presentations anymore.

So by focussing on his strengths rather than he weaknesses, he was able to deliver fun, practical and humorous presentations.

2. Set Up Ahead Of Time

We have all had times when we can go right into something and excel by achieving the intended results. Usually, when we are playing to our strengths. However, there are other times when we mess up completely, therefore don’t achieve intended results.

Irrespective of the challenges you are facing, you will stand a better chance of succeeding by planning and setting things up ahead of time.

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry

“By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”

Benjamin Franklin

You are going to have to be clear on what exactly you want to achieve.

  • What are you expecting to happen?
  • What solution or result are you expecting?

The clearer you can be in the outcome you are hoping to achieve the clearer you are going to know what you need to prepare to accomplish the results.

Start breaking the result down into achievable steps to follow.

Ask What;

  • can you do to set things up to achieve the desired outcome?
  • do you need to have in place?
  • will help to make you want to happen?
  • are you willing to do to get the desired result?

Irrespective of what your desired results, it will be possible to get the results if you are crystal clear of the desired outcome and the effort needed in setting things in place to achieve the results.

You are more likely to achieve the result if you put time and effort into setting things up beforehand.

3. No Losing Anyway

What is your definition of life?

  • Is it getting a job,
  • getting married,
  • feeling valued
  • having fun.

Life isn’t a few things that are specific things. Life is a combination of many different things and events. These things change relevance or importance as your stages of life change.

In brief, it comes down to us being and doing the best for ourselves and for the people we love. Although it can be a struggle at times and other times its a joy. However, the constant in all this change, is what our capacity is to learn, develop and grow.

We have a unique, unparalleled ability to learn, develop, grow and adapt continually.

A great attitude to adopt is to consider that everything you do, irrespective if you achieve the results you want or not, is a step toward reaching your goals.

We only really achieve anything in life by doing something. It is the act of doing that moves us closer to our goals.

Tomas Edison answered after his 207th prototype for the electric light bulb –

“I am not discouraged because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward.”

Thomas A. Edison

If you are ever going to get to 100%, you are going to have to go from 1% to 99% first.

If you have the right attitude, we can learn in everything we do, whether we achieve the intended results or not. Therefore it’s just part of the process and the necessary steps forward to our eventual goal.

So with the attitude of no such thing as losing, just learning, developing, growing and adapting.

Perhaps you feel that you are stuck in a rut in your life, you are no longer excited to get up in the mrning to face the day of go to work. Perhaps you are just tired of never having enough money to do the things you want in Life.

Perhaps your own digital business online working around your interests, the things that excite you. You can even start and build your business around your current job so very little risk. Get a FREE training series and find out how you can join the thousands who are starting a digital business.

5 Top Tips To Boost Your Motivation.

Motivation is the driving force behind life-enhancing change. The reason or reasons for acting or behaving in a particular way. It comes from knowing precisely what you want to do. Therefore having an insatiable, burning desire to do all that is necessary to get it.

Motivation keeps your dream on track as it is the power of motivation that keeps you going when the going gets tough.

“The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential… these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.”

1. Create a picture/vision board and fill it with images of your desired goals.

Make sure that you will be able to see this picture/ vision board every day.

As soon as you start to feel different about what you already have, you will start to attract more of the good things.

Dr Joe Vitale

Images of:

  • The car you want to own,
  • The house you want to live in,
  • The area where you want to live.

Others images could be of

  • Holiday destinations,
  • Trophies,
  • First-class travel tickets,
  • Clothes you want to buy,
  • Fine restaurants you want to frequent and
  • Whatever you can think of that gets your pulse racing.

By getting angry about where you are right, now can motivate you to make the necessary changes to achieve the goals you have set.

“The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”

Steve Jobs

The worst thing you can do to make sure you achieve your goals is to have a blaze attitude towards any change that is needed.

Ask yourself:

  • Why do I want to change?
  • Is it because you FED UP with debts?
  • Does your job DRIVE YOU CRAZY?
  • Is your life DULL AND PREDICTABLE?
  • Are you SICK AND TIRED of doing the same thing week in week out?
  • Are you BORED BEYOND BELIEF by the dull, uninspiring, unhappy people you associate with?

Write down, all of the frustrating, unrewarding, miserable feelings and attitudes that makes every day a dull slog.

Then ask yourself “IS THAT WHAT I WANT?”

3. Appreciate the value of the time you have on this earth.

The older we get the more value we tend to give to the time we have left. Time is the most valuable and precious resource we have and it is a non-renewable resource.

“Time is free, but its priceless

You can’t own it, but you can use it

You can’t keep it, but you can spend it

Once you’ve lost it, you can never get it back.”

 Harvey MacKay

We all have the choice to either use our time fully or waste it. However, if you want to make any change you are going to have to invest your time in making the changes you want.

Ways you can start using your time better and reduce activities that steal your time are

  • Television,
  • Newspapers,
  • Lie-ins,
  • Weekends spent shopping,
  • Partying,
  • Dining out,
  • Visiting relatives and friends.

These are the activities that will stealthily steal your time and prevent you from achieving your goals.

Instead, invest this time, on yourself and your goals.

Remember: Your time on earth is finite. Nobody knows how much time they have. What counts is how you use the time you have. So make your time count, and that means starting from right NOW.

4. Conformity. Are you a mindless little sheep who’s way too timid to pursue your way?

Do you have to follow where everyone else goes, doing exactly what everyone else does and therefore, who gets the same levels of happiness as all the other little sheep?

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”

 Ralph Waldo Emerson

“I think the reward for conformity is that everyone likes you except yourself.”

Rita Mae Brown

Seriously, does this describe YOU? Are you too frightened to be different than all of the other sheep because they wouldn’t like it if you decided to follow a different path?

So you dutifully trot along following all the other sheep because if they’re doing it, then that’s how it is right? But if you do what everyone else does, you’ll get what everyone else gets.

Do you want to be a mindless, timid little sheep who blindly follows all the other sheep?

Or do you want to be a leader, a warrior who possesses the courage to be uniquely you and to do what you want to do and make your dreams happen?

If so, then this means you have to be more like a tiger than a sheep. Do you want to be a sheep? I mean, haven’t we got enough sheep already?

5. Fight your fear.

Fear is the force that is determined to stop you in your tracks and rob your dreams from you. But it can only do this if you let it.

Are you going to let this cruel, destructive charlatan trample on your dreams, steal your happiness and crush your spirit?

“It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live.”

Marcus Aurelius

Imagine this thought haunting your final days:

“I didn’t do the things I wanted because I was too frightened to live”.

And by then, it’ll be far too late to conquer fear. Refuse to let fear spoil your life and start taking action now!

The world is waiting for your unique gifts. Why keep it waiting any longer?

Are These 5 Drivers Also Holding You Back – From Achieving Your Dreams, Passion, Happiness Or Fulfilment?

pasion book

This post identifies five drivers that may be holding you back from achieving your goals, finding your passion and even preventing you from fulfilment or happiness.

We have all probably been affected by these five drivers at some point in our lives. Once we know what drivers are affecting our lives, we can make the necessary changes.

However, if we don’t even know what the drivers are, nothing is going to change, and we may remain a slave or victim to these unhelpful disempowering drivers for our whole life. Perhaps we never discover our purpose in Life.

The man without a purpose is like a ship without a rudder – a waif, a nothing, a no man.

Tomas Carlyle

We All Are Driven By Something?

You may not immediately realize what the driving force in your life is, but there is something driving you.

I quick search of the dictionary will describe the word drive as – Verb, “to guide, to control, to direct”

So by applying this dictionary description of ‘drive’ to how we use the word drive/s in our life…

To drive (to guide, to control to direct) a car, or golf ball.

Whatever you are driving you will be guiding, controlling or directing.

So what drives your life?

What is guiding, controlling or directing your life, or how you lead or live your life?

This may be a sobering exercise, and here are five drivers that drive most people.

Five drivers are

  • Guilt
  • Resentment or anger
  • Fear
  • Materialism
  • The need for approval

Driven By Guilt

People who are driven by guilt allow their memories to manipulate them.

They often spend their entire life running from past regrets and trying to hide their shame.

They live in the past and allow their past to control their present and their future.

Driven By Resentment Or Anger

People driven by resentment or anger tend to hold onto past hurts and pains. Issues which they have never dealt with. They constantly replay these hurtful and painful memories over and over in their mind. They fail to forgive and move on.

Therefore often leading to them internalizing these hurts and pains and becoming anger. Thus very unhealthy, both mentally and physically. It is not helpful.

Being resentful only actually hurts the person that is being resentful. The person who offended you has probably long forgotten about the incident. Therefore it no longer affects them.

Driven By Fear

We have all had disappointments in our life. There may also have been traumatic experiences, or perhaps you have even set unrealistic expectations on yourself. When you didn’t achieve these expectations, they haunt you by creating a fear of repeating the past disappointments.

People driven by fear miss out on many opportunities, and many of them may even have been great opportunities all because their fear bounds them. The fear is so real that is prevents them from venturing out.

This self-imposed prison will keep people from ever truly being great or achieving or fulfilling their purpose in life.

Driven By Materialism.

In today’s world, the evidence of this fear is prevalent and is becoming the norm for many. People are driven by acquiring more in the misconception that they are going to be happy if they acquire more possessions.

The inevitable result of this drive is that the satisfaction of the acquisition is short-lived and then the desire to acquire even more persists, and the cycle continues.

Driven By The Need For Approval.

Many people are shocked when they find out as adults that their expectations their parents, schoolteachers or family members put on them still control their lives—most of the time, not in a positive way.

These adults tend to still seek their parent’s approval in the things they do, and this overflows into also giving in to peer pressures and always being concerned of what others think or most cases what other might be thinking.

Now when people know what is driving them even if it is reasoned that are not helpful, they have the choice to deal with the mind-set and overcome it.

However, if they aren’t even aware they have an unhelpful driver in their lives, sadly nothing will change. They may very well have these burdens for the rest of their lives. Never really find happiness, their passions or fulfilment.

It is so essential for us to reflect on these things. They would have affected all us to some degree sometime in our lives. If we can identify the unhelpful drivers and address them, we can look forward to a better, brighter future.
